On October 30, 2025, the Coalition for Workplace Safety filed comments in response to OSHA’s informal public hearing on its Heat Injury and Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings proposed rule. The comments respond to specific questions directed to CWS by OSHA during the coalition’s June 2025 testimony. As explained in the comments, CWS maintains the position that the proposed rule should be withdrawn for significant revision “to create a more flexible approach that will allow employers to tailor their heat illness prevention approach based on their unique work environments, employees’ needs, and tolerances.”
