CWS Submits Comments on “Control of Hazardous Energy” RFI

Washington, D.C. – On August 19, 2019, CWS submitted comments on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Request for Information on the control of hazardous energy.

In our comments CWS supported OSHA’s decision to modernize its Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety standard but cautioned the agency against creating greater burdens for employers. CWS encouraged OSHA to contemplate the current state of technology when considering how best to modernize the LOTO standard, but the agency should also seek to provide employers with the flexibility necessary to capitalize on technological advancements that can simultaneously keep workers safe and reduce burdens and inefficiencies for employers.
