On October 8, the Coalition for Workplace Safety and 45 employer organizations sent a letter to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee urging them to oppose the newly reintroduced Warehouse Worker Protection Act.
The following statement can be attributed to CWS spokesperson Lauren Williams:
“As we explained when the Warehouse Worker Protection Act was originally introduced, this bill would force OSHA to implement unworkable rules and make it much harder for businesses to operate. The provision mandating OSHA pursue an ergonomics standard in particular would be costly, unduly burdensome, and ineffective in protecting workers.
“The Warehouse Worker Protection Act impacts workplaces across the economy and in nearly every industry. It will undermine American supply chains and impede efforts to improve workplace safety. CWS urges the Committee to reject this bill.”
